Parish Open Day 18th April 2010

The Parish Pastoral Council is organising an Open Day for all groups contributing to the life of the Parish.  This is being held in the Church on Saturday 17th April after the 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday 18th after each of the Masses in order for all the members of the different ministries to come together to promote and share what they do and to provide an occasion for new members to join. It is also an opportunity for the parish to reflect in thanksgiving for the spirit of generosity of the people of St Peter’s Parish Phibsboro, who have given their time and skills throughout many years to enhancing the life of the parish community. We invite all parishioners to visit the various stands. The last Open Day took place back in 2007.

Our Parish Open Day 25th March, 2007
Some groups like the Ladies Choir, Phibsboro Aid, the Luncheon Club to mention but a few have been enriching the lives of many people in the parish in many different ways through the many talented ministries for over 30 years or more.

Some newer groups are still in the spring years of their formation like the Micah Community, V
incentian Lay Missionaries,  and R.C.I.A.

The objective of the day, an initiative of the Parish Pastoral Council, is to acknowledge the work of those involved who go about their ministry in quiet, dedicated, regularity.

It is also a day for us to learn more about each other.  To enquire of each group what is involved in their ministries.  To meet and greet each other and affirm the presence of each group and the role they play in keeping St. Peter’s varied ministries alive

It will also be a day of opportunity for new members to join, so that the work of each particular ministry continues to live on to the next generation.

Each Ministry group were invited to have a display of their work,  provide literature and to inform parishioners of their work.

Let us hope and pray that spirit of St. Vincent de Paul will be with us as we try to honour our Mission Statement.

“In the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, We welcome you to this holy place, Where we are fed, and God is found, and from where we journey with fellow pilgrims to our sisters and brothers who hunger for the bread of life”.

If you were not able to attend our Parish Open Day we invite you to view a list of our parish ministry groups - which of these ministries can you get involved in, thereby enhancing the life of our parish community ?

The Parish Pastoral Council wish to thank all the ministries of the Parish that partook in the Parish Open Day.  We appreciate the efforts that went into the displays and the time given to share the work of each group.  We hope that the day afforded each ministry and the whole Parish the opportunity to appreciate the work of each group and to fan into flame the desire to become involved in a particular ministry.   If you want to get involved in any of the parish ministries please contact the parish office at 8389708 or e-mail info@stpetersphibsboro.ie
