Our True Self

Today’s Gospel reveals to us our hardness of heart.  Greed and avarice are within the human condition.  The wisdom of today’s Gospel is in the words of Jesus “man /woman is not made secure by what he /she owns.”

Within all our hearts there is potential for good or evil.  The grace to gradually move towards our true selves is God given, while surrendering to a God of kindness, compassion and love.  The gradual cultivation of spiritual awareness eventually reveals our true selves in God.  Listening to God’s word in silence and trust helps this process.  Our creator God longs to move our hardened hearts to freedom and this in turn gives us a richness in spirit.
