Rosary Sunday

The Feast of the Holy Rosary will see the launch of St. Peter’s Rosary walk around the side altars of the Church. The opening ceremony will take place at the end of Mass at 11.30pm  The Walk will be available during the regular Church opening hours with a scheduled reciting of the Rosary each day at 12 noon.

(Monday because of Church cleaning, the recitation will take place in the sacristy, access through the parish office)

Walk the walk, listen to the Talk

Desmond Gunning will lead an Ivy Day Walking Tour of Phibsborough next Saturday the 6th October. The walk will leave St Peter’s Church at 2.30 pm. and will introduce the Harry Clarke treasures of the Church before exploring other aspects of historical Phibsborough There will be no fee charged, but donations would be gratefully received by   Friends of  St. Peters Church.   Walk will finish at Phibsborough House (Jim Clarke’s) Monck Place at 4.00 pm approx.

28.7 – Radio St Peter’s is back!

28.731– Radio St Peter’s (RSP) Masses and Devotions from St. Peter’s are once again broadcasting on our own radio channel

The broadcast channel is 28.731mhz for those who are technically minded.

For the rest of us, the special receivers required are available from the Parish Office.

We are hoping to set up a web based alternative soon, as the receivers are becoming ever harder to source, such is the speed of technical change.

St John Gabriel Perboyre

John Gabriel Perboyre, C.M. (French: Jean-Gabriel Perboyre), was a French priest, who served as a missionary in China, where he was killed because of his faith. He was canonized in 1996 by Pope John Paul II.

His Feast day is the 11th of September

On a high note

St Peter’s Singers Musical Director, Helen Walsh has recently been honoured by having I will bless your name, a Psalm setting of her own composition included in the World Meeting of Families Event. A piece very familiar to our Sunday congregations now has been performed for an International audience. Congratulations Helen.

The origin of the piece is a lesson in simplicity,
